The baker calls daily but main shopping is either 6 minutes away at Ravières or at Montbard (15 minutes). Both towns have markets, supermarkets and café bars and restaurants.

The most southerly champagne region is only 45 minutes away.

Local Information
The property is set in private grounds, on the banks of the river Armançon, 15 min from the town of Montbard.
Montbard lies south-east of Paris (3 hrs), between Dijon (1 hr 10 min) and Auxerre (1 hr 15 min). The famous, wine-producing village of Chablis is less than an hour away.

Riding, golf, hot-air ballooning, swimming, sailing and boating on the Lac du Pont and boating on the peaceful Canal de Bourgogne. This beautiful canal runs parallel to the river Armançon, just 500 yards from the property, and is also a perfect place for walking and bicycling. Local bike hire.
The whole region is renowned not only for its food and wine but also for its fascinating history with its beautiful chateaux, abbeys and fortified towns. From the property, you are in easy driving distance of the ancient towns of Auxerre, Avallon, Dijon, Noyers, Saulieu, Vezelay and even Beaune and Autun.
The Abbeys of Fontenay and Pontigny, the magnificent chateaux of Ancy-le-Franc, Epoisses and Tanlay, to mention a few. The Forges de Buffon, the wine town of Chablis, the spectacular fortified town of Semur-en-Auxois, and the charming hill top village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (where the film 'Chocolat' was made) are all within forty minutes.
There are a surprising number of treasures hidden away in this wonderfully peaceful and unspoilt area.
