Across the valley is a railway line on which occasional trains may be seen and heard.
A local farmer takes an annual hay crop off the land but no animals graze on the land.

Local Information
The property is located in the small, picturesque village of St Denis Catus 15 km from Cahors, 12 Kms from Junction 57 on the autoroute. The village has a bar and restaurant.
Neighbouring village of Catus, 3.5 km with excellent bakery, butchers, greengrocers, newsagent, small supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant and cashpoint. Post Office and Tourist Office also located in the village.
Local market every Tuesday. Cahors market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Dordogne, Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac are some 40 km to the North.
Water sports facilities may be found on the River Lot.
Upstream from Cahors, the road follows the River Lot through dramatic and awe inspiring countryside towards St Cirq Lapopie, Cabrerets and the prehistoric caves of Pech Merle. All are well worth a visit.
To the South are the spectacular deep gorges of the Aveyron and Tarn Rivers leading to the mediaeval towns of Cordes-sur-ciel, ('the village in the sky') and Albi with its painted cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec Museum.
The whole region enjoys an abundance of good food. Particular specialities include duck, truffles and an array of different cheeses. Locally grown fruit and vegetables are plentiful and delicious.
The smaller restaurants in the surrounding villages are well worth visiting and many produce amazing menus of great value, variety and quality.
West of Cahors and spread over miles of countryside are the vineyards which produce the robust and distinctive Cahors Wine. These include the Chateau de Grezette owned by the Cartier family and Chateau Caix which belongs to the Danish Royal family.
