Local Information

The property lies in the heart of the medieval, wine-producing village of Pouzolles (population 980). Pouzolles is between Béziers and Pézenas, deep in the Languedoc vineyards. Beautiful, tree-lined roads lead into the village.

30 second walk into the village centre from the property; café bar / restaurants, mini-mart and bakery. Excellent local wine outlet. Market in the square on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Traditional auberge / restaurant in neighbouring village of Margon (5 min). Further shops and restaurants in Magalas and Roujan (5 min either side of the village).

Mediterranean beaches lie just 35 minutes south (nearest beach Valras Plage or Vias Plage).

Béziers for great restaurants and hypermarket shopping.

Pézenas (15 min) will charm you with its superb Saturday market, traditional restaurants, pavement cafés, summer festivals and concerts and winding streets with artisan shops.

Seafood capital of Bouzigues not to be missed, further superb seafood restaurants at Marseillan (great beach here, also) and the thriving town of Sete.

Cap d'Agde for waterside restaurants, nightclubs, boat-trips, beaches, lovely harbour, golf and children's Waterpark.

Languedoc National Park for all outdoor activities; walking, trekking, river swimming, kayaking and canoeing, windsurfing (Lake Salagou). Spectacular scenery in the Gorges d'Héric.
