Local Information
The property is located on the edge of the village of Pomas, between Carcassonne, (20 min)and Limoux, (15 min).
Village has small shop, bar and bakery.
On the door step is the major wine growing area of Limoux, home to 'Blanquette' with the Minervois and Corbieres wine areas nearby. Other interesting local towns are those of Mirepoix and Fanjeaux, steeped in medieval history.
The famous walled 'cité' of Carcassonne - a world heritage site - and the Canal du Midi are only a short drive and not to be missed - truly an historic and spectacular place with an abundance of excellent restaurants and entertainment.
Within an hour's drive are the larger towns of Toulouse (to the West) and Narbonne (to the East) plus the golden beaches of the Mediterranean.
A 1 1/2hr drive takes you up into the picturesque Pyrenees with Andorra and then Spain just beyond.
For golf lovers the wonderful 18 hole Carcassonne Golf course is only a 10 min drive up the road with other courses available towards Toulouse and Narbonne.
